About The
Instructor

Mark Bowlby, instructor and owner of Kids Fitness Made Fun has
worked in the fitness field for 17 years. During those 17 years, the
health and fitness of children has been the focus of his
work.
He is committed to designing general fitness programs for
children of all ages and all fitness levels. His programs strive to foster
healthy, lifelong habits in a fun and supportive
environment.
Mark’s early years were spent playing outside sports and games
until the sun went down. It was during this time that he
developed a solid foundation for proper movement
patterns and a love for athletics. Mark enjoyed many sports
growing up, but found gymnastics the most rewarding. Mark
excelled in gymnastics and competed and won multiple state and
national competitions at the Jr. Olympic level.
During his university years at The Ohio State University, Mark
was a member of the Ohio State Gymnastics team and graduated
with a degree in Exercise Science. While still in
college, Mark realized his ability to work effectively with
young aspiring gymnasts. After graduation, Mark worked
for SCEGA Gymnastics in Temecula, CA as a coach and
instructor. He found that his successful coaching style led
numerous gymnasts to achieve many state and national
titles.
In 1998, Mark and his sister Tamara opened two gymnastics
schools in Massachusetts. For nine years, Big East
Gymnastics developed and nurtured the physical and social
development of children from 18 months to 18 years. It was
during these years that Mark unknowingly began to lay the
foundation for what is now Kids Fitness Made Fun.
As an owner of Big East Gymnastics, one of Mark’s
responsibilities was to design programs that addressed
coordination, movement, flexibility and team
work. Of
particular interest was Mark’s desire to develop
conditioning exercises that would be fun and challenging
at the same time. Mark designed a series of
“conditioning” games taking into consideration children’s
varying developmental levels. When engaging in these
new activities, Mark found that the children worked
harder, exercised longer and had fun. These simple, yet
effective games were the inspiration for Kids Fitness
Made Fun.
In 2007, Mark and his sister decided to sell their gymnastics
schools and venture into other areas of
interest.
During this time, Mark received his Personal Training
Certification and relocated to the Frisco, TX
area.
Mark’s dream of creating activities to help children
enjoy the benefits of being fit followed him to
Texas.
Mark continued to create exercise programs that
encouraged children, at all different fitness levels, to
form healthy habits that would stay with them throughout
their lives. As a result of
his continuing efforts and fitness expertise, Mark has
created an outstanding program that helps children become
fit through fun and supportive fitness
activities.
Mark has recently become a certified member of the IYCA
(International Youth Conditioning Association). The IYCA
is an organization that supports the development of youth
fitness in a safe and positive manner.
Mark lives with his wife and two daughters in the Frisco, TX
area.
